Axiom Verge 2 has been delayed again, release date now Q3 2021

The eagerly-awaited Metroidvania title Axiom Verge 2 has been delayed again with a release date scheduled for later this year. The developer originally gave a release window of early 2021, but creator Thomas Happ has advised fans that they’ll have to wait a little longer and we can now expect it to be released between July and September on Nintendo Switch as well on PC. To help with the extended wait, you can check out an interesting 25-minute documentary on the making of the first game via IGN here.

  1. Paraphrased, but as Miyamoto has said, “a delayed game can eventually be good; a bad game is bad forever”.

And yet he delayed Star Fox Zero and look how that turned out.

Anyway, I didn’t even know there was a sequel in the works. The original game is in my backlog, I still need to play it.

  2. Yea the first one has my attention but never bought. The fact there isn’t a map really turned me off. Metroid 2, ok there were limitations I guess. But no map in an exploration game in 2017, I’m sorry I got other games to play. If the sequel has a map I’m all in.

    1. I don’t know where you got your information that there’s no map in Axiom Verge, but it’s wrong. There most certainly is a map.

      1. Well shit. I swear I remember reading reviews while thinking of buying it and one of the knocks was the lack of map. Ok then I will look out for it to go on sale.
