In an impressive feat, Metroid Dread has won the award for best Action/Adventure game at The Game Awards 2021. The mainline 2D Metroid sequel from Mercury Steam launched back in October alongside the Nintendo Switch OLED, quickly receiving critical and commercial success. So happy to see this! I don’t think it’ll end up winning GOTY in the end, but I’m super happy it got this acknowledgement at least!
On another related matter; the Game Award Orchestra’s performance of Samus Aran’s theme was absolutely fantastic!! Gave me goosebumps as soon as it came on.
