It has been rumoured for quite some time that Rare’s GoldenEye 007 is set to be released from the gaming vaults. Nintendo recently managed to get the game unbanned from Germany which was a random feat. Rare had been working on a revised edition of GoldenEye 007 for the Xbox 360 which was nearing completion (they also released a revised edition of Perfect Dark for Xbox 360) but it was then scrapped, presumably due to wider licensing issues. Today, the achievements for GoldenEye 007 for Xbox One have been uploaded to Xbox. The game has also appeared on long-standing Rare developer BigSheep’s profile and also the Head of Community’s profile for Rare. All in all it seems very likely that the legendary game will be released soon.The big question now is whether it will also come to the Nintendo Switch family of systems.

actually Nintendo are supposed to have partial ownership of this game. If i recall the reason it didn’t come out on 360 was that nintendo changed their mind. \this is happening because thei improved relationship. If it’s coming xbox, there’s a very good chance it’s coming to switch.
the only question is, will it be like the fancy version on xbox (modernised graphics, controls etc) or rwill it just be on the untouched version as part of online n64 collection…I’d wager the latter.

Can you imagine if it’s like some new cooperation between Nintendo and Microsoft.
What if Nintendo brought their online virtual console collections to Xbox. Anyone with a Nintendo Online subscription can download and play NES, SNES, and N64 games on their Xbox… meanwhile anyone with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can download and play Xbox games on their Switch through Xcloud. A new era of partnership! And the cherry on the tip of the deal sundae is Goldeneye… since both companies own partial rights it was this level of cooperation that was necessary to make Golden eye happen.
