The latest European video game software and hardware charts have come through for July 2022 with sales plunging all round due to continued console stock shortages and lack of big new mainstream software titles. The Nintendo Switch family of systems were the best-selling hardware in Europe for July while stock shortages continue to impact PlayStation and Xbox, making for a difficult month for retail. The best-selling video game was EA’s F1 22. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has had the best launch sales for the JRPG franchise with launch sales up 27%.

  1. Well I wonder why? Maybe because the Series X and PS5 suffered huge shortages out of the 3 when it comes to component shortages? That and greedy people wanting to “feed their families” by buying up every stock as if they are gonna sell through all the stock when in reality it’s like maybe 3 in 6mos? Sarcasm aside, i mean the Switch isn’t suffering too badly with stock but they are having a hard time meeting demand with the chip shortage just not as bad as the other 2 though the Series S has seen plenty supply, maybe cuz hardly anyone wants it?

    1. The switch was still going to be moving units. It’s not like Xbox does well in Europe, except in the UK.

      F=ma.

  2. Yeah, I’ve been looking for a PS5 but most local retailers are sold out. I called Gamestop one time last October and they had The Switch in stock the next day i went and got one. I’ve only actually seen one PS5 but someone purchased it before i could. I was there with the money, the other person left and went to ask the wife if they could use the credit card to purchase the PS5. Meanwhile, i was already there and last i knew Gamestop isn’t suppose to reserve a system it’s first come first serve. They can hold games for 24 hours, but the actual system is first come first serve. I was kinda mad, the other person got the PS5 and because i know Gamestops policy and the employees don’t.
