SEGA and the Sonic Team are determined that their ambitious Sonic Frontiers will release this year, despite some fans calling on the Japanese company to push back the game’s release. A recent listing for the game has appeared on a Taiwanese gaming website with a 15th November, 2022 release date. The game’s listing also reveals that the game will get some form of downloadable content, which will presumably be announced alongside an official release date during the Gamescom Opening Night Live presentation which is hosted by Geoff Keighley and airs live tomorrow.
Taiwan: Sonic Frontiers listed with November release date and will have some form of DLC

Before everyone goes Super Saiyan Berserk, no the DLC isn’t ripped from the game to be resold , Sega ain’t EA and Activision-Blizzard and DLC isn’t always paid DLC, some are free, DLC from any EA and Activision-Blizzard games are never free, even the “free” ones. That being said, i wonder if the content are freebies or post-game stuff or extra stories?
Guess you don’t remember when they tried to sell super sonic as dlc for forces, and ended up facing backlash making him free in the end.
Yeah it’s fine that they make him free but they could have let other characters to be playable in the game honestly and yes Sonic Forces DLC was really a rough start for the game development. I’m hoping this DLC for this game be a bit bigger like Nintendo’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game and be a paid DLC this time.
And it was only changed to free after a month, so they still wound up making some money from it
Well I hope this DLC won’t be s bigger mess like Sonic Forces. I’m still holding my breath on it. I’m still demanding a few good DLC content for Sonic Frontiers for our amusement.
You really shouldn’t plan pre-launch DLC for a game with a failing reputation…
But oh well, Sega does what Nintendon’t lol
DLC can be planned and even announced before release as long as the base game is finished and feels like a complete package imo, but yeah we still gotta see if the game is actually worth spending money on before we even consider buying its DLC. Hopefully the new trailer tomorrow instills more confidence for the game
Yeah no kidding. I’m still holding my breath on it because we all know SEGA is not planning to delay this game.
Remember when Sega Charges for Gold Shoes and Gloves in Colors Ultimate or when they Charged for Basic Menu Features in Sonic Mania?
