Sonic Frontiers, the next main series 3D Sonic the Hedgehog game, is supposed to be releasing this holiday season. However, despite a bunch of details about the game coming out over the past few months, there’s still no exact release date, no pricing, and the game’s story has been largely hidden from any footage of the game.
Well, that may be changing very soon. Geoff Keighley confirmed on his Twitter account that Sonic Frontiers will be getting some attention at Gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live. In fact, Keighley mentions that there will be a “world premiere new look and news” about the game. His tweet about the matter can be seen down below.

I am fairly hyped to see more of Sonic frontiers; granted that maybe because of how we’ve been getting drip feed News until this past June and that we haven’t had a modern Sonic game since 2017.
That aside, everything that I have seen for this game so far actually looks like it could be GOOD; I am not saying that it could be game of the year material, but I am fairly confident that it could at least be on par with generations or unleashed
I’d hope for it to be a lot better than Unleashed.
I’m not sure why that game has suddenly gotten a lot of popularity, but the Werehog stages ruined the whole experience for me. Absolute pace killer.
I don’t know, for some reason I never really hated the werehog stage; except for the final stage, because that was an absolute nightmare
Idk, I feel like it’s just nostalgia clouding people’s minds. The day stages are still fantastic for the most part, but the Werehog is insufferable.
He starts out okay in the early parts, but when I replayed it, I already wanted to stop playing after Spagonia’s night stages.
I kept going to see if my opinion would change and see what people find good about the game, but it didn’t happen.
Eggmanland was the final nail in the coffin. That level takes legit everything wrong with the game and wraps it up in one package.
I’ll be watching, but I unfortunately don’t have high hopes for this game. It looked like a train wreck last time we saw this. Not only that, but the way the company handled the release of Sonic Origins even though it was in good hands with Stealth and his team Headcannon makes me question the rare possibility of Frontiers being successful. Hopefully this new peak at the game will alleviate most of my concerns as it looked very unfinished when they foolishly revealed an “early build” of the game a few months earlier.
I’m still not getting my hopes up but maybe they will reveal the game final product this time and of course a small cutscene. I really wondering how will Sonic Team will react when the game meet high standards for fans expectations honestly.
Ssf1991, boy.
No matter what happens, am going to be here to read you damage controlling everything wrong with the Sonic franchise.
For your own health, we hope sonic team “kills” it this time.
