The Sonic the Hedgehog brand has had its ups and downs over the years but its overall popularity currently seems to be relatively stable. SEGA reports in its latest financial results that it shifted 990,000 Sonic the Hedgehog games between July and September 2026, bringing the series to 1.97 million units for the first six months of the fiscal year. Sonic recorded 980,000 units between April and June 2026, followed by another 990,000 in the latest quarter. However, sales are 10.9% below those from last year’s financial figures. It is not clear which Sonic games fans have been buying as of late, though Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is certainly sure to be one of them as the Year Two content has now launched.
