Nintendo has said that it has no plans to further increase the pricing of the Nintendo Switch 2 despite the dire component shortages and rising costs for consumers. The Kyoto-based company says that it has made sure it has enough quantities for both and that it is in a position to secure sufficient quantities. Sadly the company said operating profit declined 16% to 73.9 billion yen in the quarter, below analyst estimates, and sales also fell. Sony came away the biggest winner of the day beating estimates though analyst Serkan Toto said their success could have been even bigger if more PlayStation 5 Pro units were made available.
Thanks to Greatsong1 for sending in the news tip!

Why does every company need to have an AI database? Can we have like 3 or 4 that all companies share instead of every company spending millions of dollars on their own? If companies agreed to that, it would free up so many memory and ram to be used outside of Databases.
The Quarter report is interesting. profit is lower because they have been investing more, more staff, more stock. Nintendo is preparing for a longer – more difficult – environment with the chain of production, supplies, longer development times, etc. Basically they are using more money for future proofing, including having more parts for manufacturing. Let’s wait when we get to the 1000$ – and higher – prices on other platforms, meanwhile they are closing studios and showing profits in the short-term in the next years.
Nintendo is playing the long game.
