The Nintendo Switch 2 seems to be selling decently and things should only improve after the release of today’s long-awaited The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake which sits at a whopping 96 on Metacritic. Today, Nintendo announced that their latest system has now sold 26.35 million units since it was released in June 2025. However, the Nintendo Switch is the real winner at 157.20 million sold worldwide since its release in March 2017. The PlayStation 2 holds the record at 160 million and should be surpassed, but with Nintendo eventually discontinuing the original Switch in Europe it remains to be seen.
