Nintendo’s Bill Trinen believes Zelda Ocarina of Time remake is the perfect first Zelda game

Nintendo’s very own Bill Trinen has spoken to IGN about the recently released The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for the Nintendo Switch 2. Mr. Trinen explained that he believes Ocarina of Time to be the perfect entry point for someone new to the acclaimed series as it features everything you would expect from a Zelda gamet and more. Nintendo of America Vice President of Player & Product Experience Bill Trinen was talking to IGN at at the launch event for the Ocarina of Time Remake at the Nintendo Store in San Francisco. Here’s what he said:

“This is the perfect place for your first Zelda game, because you are gonna learn everything that there is about the world and the characters that will serve sort of as the foundation for all the others, all the games that came after.”

“This game is sort of a really foundational story for the lore of the Legend of Zelda. It really tells the story of Link and his journey becoming a hero. It tells the story of Link and his connection to Zelda and their relationship with Ganondorf. And overall, it communicates kind of what is at the moral core of is all the series, which is the idea that wisdom and courage combined can overcome power.”

  1. It honestly really is. It’s the most ‘Zelda’ of all the Zeldas, and the remake polishes it to a golden shine. Definitely what I’m going to be recommending any friends who want to try the series out

  2. I agree, even though breath of the wild is very welcoming for newcomers, the Oot remake is able to get newcomers used to all of the Zelda mechanics that weren’t present in breath of the wild (Like the more linear dungeons and map design, and a more soulslike approach to progression) making it more easy for newcomers to want to try out more older Zelda games after beating the Oot remake.
