Content creator, Mikey-Mike, otherwise known as Metroid Mike 64, has recently announced on Twitter that his seven year project titled, Super Mario Bros. 5, which began life in 2015 with the release of the original Super Mario Maker, is now complete and ready to play in Super Mario Maker 2 on the Nintendo Switch family of systems. Metroid Mike 64 said on Twitter that his personal project Super Mario Bros. 5 features 40 full courses spread across 8 Worlds. These contain 24 courses built from Super Mario World, 14 from Super Mario Bros 3 and 2 courses from Super Mario Bros. He went on to say that there are no courses from the later New Super Mario Bros U or Super Mario 3D World. You can read his Twitter thread here for all the details or just go into Super Mario Maker 2 and enter the course code 0G9-XN4-FNF.
After 7 years Super Mario Maker content creator launches ‘Super Mario Bros. 5’

Mike is an awesome dude and I am so excited to check this out!
Wow, I’m going to look for my copy of smm2 and fire this up. Haven’t played in ages lol
I’m NOT bashing him or anything like that, but… I don’t know the proper English word for it… but he got a lot of “confidence” to say he made “Super Mario Bros. 5”. But that’s only a thing if people like me takes this too serious x)
But he didn’t say that. You can read where he literally says he “unofficially named it Super Mario Bros. 5” and that he tried “to create a classic Mario game that plays as if Nintendo created it themselves.” Big difference. In no way does that imply he’s claiming he made SMB5. He’s just saying he’s a fan that wanted to make a game LIKE Nintendo would make.
I understand the feeling. I plan on naming mine “Subpar Mario Land”

I was gonna point out how he didn’t say that but Steve beat me to it. Seriously, do people not read before commenting?
Of course people read. It’s still a bit cheeky to advertise your super world as if it’s on the same tier as an official game. You can’t even name Super Worlds in SMM2. The name is always going to be “Super [username] World”. But yeah… he made a Super Mario Bros 5 graphic to advertise it so… I can understand how some people might be put off by it.
Is it ultimately a problem? Not really. But I can understand the feeling.
I’ve just played the first world of it and they seem alright so far. They definitely aren’t bad by any means (just easy so far but that’s to be expected in a first world).

He literally opened up with “I’ve finally finished creating my Super World in Mario Maker 2”, if people still think it’s advertising is on par with a new game that’s on them.
Well, I stated that this is only an “issue” if people took it too seriously. This was very light hearted, but I don’t know if you’re trolling a reaction out of me or not:s
Yeah but you also said in your original comment that you were taking it seriously so from your perspective this isn’t light hearted.
And no, I’m not trolling, I’m just pointing out how I think your statement is flawed.
I always wanted a sequel to Super Mario World. A TRUE sequel because the one we got was actually a Yoshi game. This looks like the closest I’ll ever get to that, so this guy might have just sold SMM2 to me. (Maybe if the N64 & Super Mario 64 hadn’t been around the corner, we might have gotten a true sequel. Maybe.)
I’ll give you the code to my world too, if you want to see what I’ve come up with. It’s probably nowhere near this guy’s level, but it took me many hours to make and fine tune everything.
Sure. I got this page bookmarked on Opera GX for when I need it again.
When can we play his super Mario bros 5?
Now! The code is available and you can launch it up in Mario Maker 2
