The release of the first new 3D Sonic the Hedgehog game from Sonic Team since 2017’s disappointing Sonic Forces is just around the corner and today SEGA released a new trailer titled Showdown. The 2 minute trailer probably would have been better served as the debut trailer, as Sonic Frontiers initial showing was disappointing. This new look at the game looks promising with plenty of high speed adrenaline fuelled action in the various open zones. Metacritic says that the review embargo lifts the day before release (7th November) so all eyes will be on those all-important scores. Check out the Sonic Frontiers trailer below.

I’m hoping for this game to be one of the best ones. Sonic Team is trying to do better at this point right now. They made the right choice on delaying the game for this year. Some people will say that Sonic Team can’t be trusted after that whole Sonic Forces fiasco. But now after seeing this amazing trailer, Sonic Frontiers will finally take the cake on this one. I wanna see how well it does if it gets a award at Game Awards.
Couldn’t agree more. Sonic frontiers wont be 10/10 but it is a giant leap in the right direction for this franchise. Lets hope the game scores highly. Can’t wait.

and that cgi, oh my goodness; this may be a hot take, but that was almost on par with unleashed opening cinematics🤯
