After Nintendo concluded with their Direct yesterday, a Nintendo Switch eShop listing for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom had appeared. it is there that fans discovered that the $70 price tag is real, but there’s another interesting tidbit from that listing that may surprise you.

According to the eShop listing, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has a file-size of 18.2 GB. This is not the largest Switch game in general, as that honor goes to the 41.6 GB it takes to download NBA 2K21, but it is the largest file size ever seen in a first-party Nintendo game. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom releases on May 12th.

  1. They are charging $70+ and I bet it will still require a day one patch, can’t even imagine how much they’re gonna charge for dlc because we all know Nintendo been more focused on nickle and diming people at every opportunity they get.
Sad part is as much as I enjoyed this ip they couldn’t even be bothered to evolve the combat mechanics in the past decade or so, I mean for Christ sake you know it’s bad when koei tecmo are producing better combat mechanics in a spinoff musou version of your own game while the main game still features gamecube combat mechanics.
If you don’t believe me go watch gameplay of wind water and compare it to the combat mechanics in BotW, you’ll see how Link does the same old attack animations in both games with little to no mechanic improvements, and they have a nerve to charge 70+ for this 30 fps day one patch required overpriced game fml.

  2. Fun fact, this game is complete and it’s file size isn’t inflated to look like it has content unlike CoD and Battlefield where it’s file size is inflated plus 80% of the game is locked behind multiple paywalls and the base game has the bare minimum at full price riddled with bugs and is a copy and paste of the same game of decades ago.
