Vanpool, who you may remember as the Japanese developers behind the Nintendo 3DS title Dillion’s Rolling Western have announced on their official website that the company has now closed. There were three Dillion titles available which were Dillon’s Rolling Western, The Last Ranger in 2013 and Dillon’s Dead-Heat Breakers in 2018. The company had also worked closely with HAL Laboratory on Super Kirby Clash, Kirby Fighters 2, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe.

I wonder where the IPs will go, and I’m hoping everyone there, has been able, or has another place to work.
Aw man, those were actually pretty good games. Well, at least the first two were- I quickly lost interest in Dead-Heat Breakers (the sudden shift in setting from the wild west to a post-apocalyptic mid-century urban city was probably the biggest factor). It’ll be a shame if we never see Dillon and company again because of this.
