News site, Axios, has chatted with Xbox Game Studios chief, Matt Booty, to talk about the future of the Xbox brand after a relatively successful showcase last Sunday. Booty told the site that they are “adopting longer development cycles” and “collaborating more with each other” after the failure that was Redfall from Arkane Studios. Booty says that these shifts are part of the plan “to get Microsoft’s gaming output closer to par with the frequent excellence of rivals Sony and Nintendo.” The company also said that they are ditching last generation’s Xbox One, with Xbox Game Studios games now being made for Xbox Series X|S consoles, bar Minecraft. Xbox One owners can stream future games via the Xbox Cloud Gaming service.
Microsoft announces changes to game development in effort to get output “closer to par” with Nintendo & Sony

I agree they need more games but they also need to be fun and stable, we don’t need another Redfall (unfun and broken). One thing that could help is also work on smaller projects, i played Hi-Fi RUSH and it was extremely fun.
There is also lot of dormant IPs under their umbrella, Banjo, Bard’s Tale and Lost Odyssey comes to mind.
Just make a Banjo-Threeie. They act like war games and 1st party shooters is all people with high performance consoles want.
In the end do you buy a console for first party though? Since the WII I have 5 games on a Nintendo Console and 40-60 on another and I only buy trilpe A titles with a 9-10 rating. Games like Elden Ring , Dark Souls , GTA , Red Dead Redemption , The Witcher , Final Fantasy , Resident Evil to name a couple of examples don’t feel worse than allot of first party titles and are often even better. In the end I don’t care who made it , I buy a console to play games and all the major new titles , Xbox (never owned one) + Sony of the largest and best library every gen since PS1 wich is how it should be , regardless how much they themself or not. The console/company just offers a way to play the actuall games.
It’s not about an individual who support 3rd party games It’s about Xbox buying the studios up and not doing nothing with them after they purchased them. Why buy Rare about 21 years ago and ain’t did nothing.
If this is what you thought then this gen you only need a Gaming PC and Nintendo console. No need to give Sony any money/attention at all, which is exactly what I’m doing since idgaf about Sony 1st party games.
This is a great piece of writing that is both original and full of useful information. Please let us know how things are going. It did me good.
Hope they back this up with actions. And it’s ofc sad to see support end for Xbox One, but it’s good to see they’re embracing current gen. It will be better for the developers as well as the players on Series X/S and PC. The only people I kind of feel sorry for are the Xbox One X players. Relatively powerful hardware, but that CPU was bound to make it outdated fast.
The ways you mentioned here for the promotion of business are mind blowing. It helped me a lot and i would definately share these tactics my friends and colleagues. Thank you so much
