Decades ago, WayForward was working on a Shantae game for the Game Boy Advance. Ultimately, the game never released when the Game Boy Advance was still new. However, even though it has now been nearly 20 years, WayForward hasn’t forgotten about the game at all.
It has been announced on Limited Run Games‘ 2023 showcase presentation that the game is back in development. The game, which is called Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution, will be released on an actual Game Boy Advance-compatible cartridge. You can see WayForward’s announcement tweet down below.
And it’s coming out…on GBA? Can’t say I expected this.
Surely, it will be ported to the consoles eventually.
