Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 has sold over 12 million copies

It has been over 7 years since Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 originally released on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and it has been over 3 years since the game had released on the Nintendo Switch. It became clear very quickly that it has been a sales success, and even with the game being so old now, a recent sales update suggests that it’s still selling rather well.

Bandai Namco has announced that, as of December of last year, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 has managed to sell over 12,000,000 copies. This makes it the 3rd highest-selling fighting game of the last generation. Only Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mortal Kombat 11 are higher than it. You can see a tweet relaying the news down below.

  1. “This makes it the 3rd highest-selling fighting game of the last generation, Only Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mortal Kombat 11 are higher than it.”

I’ve played all of the Naruto UNS games and….this feels like a flawed comparison. The other 2 are 2D Fighting Games, 1 of which only barely qualifies as a fighting game, while this is a 3D Arena Fighter. A better comparison would be Dragonball Xenoverse or Jump Force.

  2. Wow, 12 million copies is incredible! Even years after its release, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 continues to show its lasting appeal. Clearly a fan favorite and one of the best-selling fighting games of the generation! 🎮🔥

  5. The success of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, which sold over 12 million copies, highlights how strong visuals and creative design can keep a digital product popular for years. Similar to how the developers used advanced graphics and animation to create engaging battles, tools like Paint 3D allow creators to design characters, scenes, and simple 3D models that bring ideas to life visually. While Paint 3D is much simpler than professional game-development software, it still reflects the same concept: using digital art tools to transform imagination into visually appealing content that can capture people’s interest.
