Today was a busy day for Sonic the Hedgehog fans. Sonic Superstars was officially revealed in June and, although news on the game has quieted down in the past few weeks, things have suddenly picked up again with a bunch of new information that has been shared by Game Informer.
It was confirmed that the game will have a world map “reminiscent of Sonic Generations’ hub where you are running around a 2D plane and selecting your zone”. This world map will also have an in-game shop where you can spend the gold medals you collect in the game to purchase cosmetic parts for your characters. They include parts for the head, body, arms and feet, but patterns, colors and accessories are also mentioned.
There is even something called “prototype”, but Game Informer says that this is all they were able to learn about this feature. Not only are they not entirely sure how it will work, but whenever they asked Takashi Iizuka about the feature, he would “play coy” about it. Nevertheless, Sonic Superstars will be releasing on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, this fall.

Reading this, I imagine it’ll be a lot like Colors Ultimate (hopefully minus the glitches); but does this mean we won’t get the Knuckles cowboy hat?
I figure this was gonna happen seeing as modern amy outfit and Lego eggman cosmetics where reveal from the start here’s to hoping some skin color changes to look like familiar sonic characters, like shadow skin for sonic, blaze skin for amy espio skin for knuckles and, silver skin for tails.
Cosmetic customization in games is always fun because it lets players create their own style even if the gameplay stays the same. I usually enjoy collecting items or unlocking new looks for characters since it adds a small personal touch to the experience. It actually reminds me of how people experiment with real beauty products to change their appearance. When I was researching skincare brands recently I ended up reading luminance milano reviews to see how customers describe product quality and results.
