Metacritic has listed the top ten games of 2023 so far, and it is a solid list of games that you have no doubt either played or are curious about. The highest-rated game this year on the review aggregation site is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which competes with the acclaimed Baldur’s Gate 3. This year’s list sees four Nintendo games in the top ten, with the other three games being Metroid Prime Remastered, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

Nintendo is the best!
Why is Tetris connected on here, that’s a 2020 game. Because of the PS5/PSvr port?
No way baulders gate is anywhere near as close as zelda. It’s basically just xcom with deeper story telling…
Calm down manchild they didnt ask for your pointless opinion.
I would note that it is the Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed expansion that actually made the top 10 this year – Xenoblade Chronicles 3 itself released in 2022 and scored 89.
It says DLC on it.
Seeing four Nintendo titles in the top ten of Metacritic’s highest-rated games of 2023 just reinforces how Nintendo continues to dominate with quality content. ‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’ leading the pack isn’t a surprise – the Zelda series has always been a benchmark for excellence in gaming. But I’m particularly thrilled about ‘Metroid Prime Remastered’ and ‘Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed DLC’ making the list. It shows that Nintendo isn’t just about creating great new titles; they’re also masters at revitalizing and extending the life of their classic franchises.
