The Game Awards 2023 will be roughly 2.5 to 3 hours long says Geoff Keighley

The flashy annual The Game Awards 2023 will be happening this week and all eyes will be on the new reveals. The event’s organiser and presenter, Geoff Keighley, has said in a recent interview that this year’s show will be roughly two and a half to three hours long, so you are going to want some snacks. Geoff also mentioned in the very same video that he is teasing fewer games ahead of the show this time compared to past shows as there are more new game reveals, which sounds good on paper. The Game Awards 2023 is happening on Thursday and kicks off at 7:30 PM ET / 12:30 AM UK time.

    1. I am going to agree with you on this one but half an hour of games is unrealistic, i’d say 5 minutes of games and the rest of the show is going to be ads, nonsense and the dorito pope licking Kojima’s boots.

      1. I think you’re way too generous with your assumption of 5 minutes being way too generous. I think there will be mostly cinematics for those 30 seconds of game reveals.

  2. Yeaaaah… I’m not putting myself through 3 hours of this crap this year, not after how bad last year’s was.
If there’s any decent announcements in the 5% of the show that’s actually watchable, I’ll just watch them the morning after. It’s not worth sitting through the other 95% of boredom.

    1. Same, I wasted 3 hours of my life (and my wife’s life, who is not a gamer) last year. Not pulling the same crap this year. Gonna stick to watch some Netflix before bed, and see the announcements next morning.

    1. Someone like Geoff doesn’t deserve our attention especially with his stunt from last year whe he refused to acknowledg the activision situation, you are being too generous.

No matter the content i am not going to watch that snooze fest, i’d rather watch the trailers and announcements somewhere later than giving audience to his ego project.

Okay cool, i’ll just read about it on Mynintendonews or some random public fourm and ignore all the post complaining about the Game Awards being 2.5 to 3 hours long.
