Never underestimate the power of the Harry Potter brand as Avalanche and Warner Bros. Games have announced that the magical Hogwarts Legacy has now shifted over 22 million copies worldwide. The news was shared in a Variety interview with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president David Haddad, who revealed the spectacular figure. Hogwarts Legacy is available now on the Nintendo Switch both physically and digitally via the Nintendo eShop. Here’s what Mr. Haddad told Variety.
“It’s not just the unit sold that I’m so proud of, it’s just that it delighted the fans so much. It brought Harry Potter to life in a new way for gamers where they could be themselves in this world, in this story. And that’s what the team at Avalanche set out to do when they were developing the game and I think that’s really why it resonated so well and remains the best-selling game of the year in the entire industry worldwide. That’s a position that typically is held by one of these incumbent’s sequel games and we’re so proud that we’ve been able to break into the top ranks.”
21 of the 22 million copies at least were sold on platforms that weren’t the Switch. And rightly so it hasn’t sold well on Switch. It was very late, looks and runs worse, has long loading times which other platforms don’t have in this open world game. It’s also full price on Switch while it’s been on sale several times on the other superior platforms.

I mean, 1 million copies sold is nothing to scoff at. This also at the heels of those other 2 having lackluster libraries, so a good game is going to definitely sell. This just means another 3rd party game enters the 1 million club even with an inferior port. 🤷 So why are we complaining?
Because they’re mad at Ninty for some reason. Do they make some asinine decisions? All the damn time; it’s infuriating. BUT I don’t let it get to me… too badly… these days. Not to the bloody point where a good 90% of my comments are just Nintendo bashing. As much as I utterly HATE current Disney, I wouldn’t go to a Disney site & do what they’re doing. In fact, I don’t waste my time on Disney much at all these days. (Maybe the semi-occasional snipe here or there, but that’s it.) shrug Whatever, though. To each their own.
That I don’t get, why even visit. I personally stopped using IGN because of their increased bias. 🤷 I’ll probably not reply to guy anymore. He doesn’t seem to care about anything other than his hate for Nintendo.

If it makes the wokies mad, it is fine. This was a great game and, in my opinion, won as the game of the year unlike Wokers Gate 3. It’s fiiiiiiine.
