007 First Light was one of the first games announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 and it had looked as though it was shaping up rather well at Hitman developer, IO Interactive. Today, the company announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light is coming at a later date than the other versions and that it will be released later this summer. The other versions of 007 First Light are on track to launch 27th May. Here’s what IO Interactive had to say on X.
007 First Light comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 27th, 2026, and Nintendo Switch 2 later this summer. We’re excited to see players discovering James Bond’s reimagined origin story, and we are looking forward to bringing you the best game experience possible across all platforms.

And after that they will still complain that it doesn’t sell on Nintendo consoles… Capcom managed to release RE Quarantine and Pragmata everywhere at the same time… It’s just a lack of will, but well, knowing IO..
It truly is crazy the lengths developers will go to just to complain about their game not selling as well on Nintendo. With GCN it was the mini disc, despite only around 60 total games utilizing more than one out of over 500, with N64 okay cartridges were more expensive I get that. Wii is an obvious one, but WiiU was all EAs media sabotage after Nintendo pulled the plug on EA running their online presence. If you don’t know, just like with PlayStation back in the 90s, EA wanted 100% control and Nintendo said no. Before that fell through EA was WiiUs biggest supporter, then publicly shamed them, cancelled titles, rushed titles, and actively sabotaged others like Mass Effect 3, releasing it on WiiU standalone for $60 at the same time they released the trilogy everywhere else for $60; of course it wasn’t going to sell well like that. Or Ubisoft giving Rayman fans the finger, the game sitting in warehouses ready to ship as a WiiU exclusive before deciding (after EA) to take it multiplatform and Microslop having a parity clause, forcing paying customers to wait from February to September to get their game. I know tons of pe who cancelled their WiiU order of Rayman and never played it. Switch is still a phenomenal seller, and Switch 2 is looking fantastic; devs are stupid to ignore them.
Do it at 540 or 720 and DLSS upscale it IO, not that hard
After seeing the most recent gameplay trailer, it needs to be delayed across the board. You don’t show off gameplay that bad this close to launch.
The frame rate looked kind of rough on the consoles, dips here and there.. I wouldn’t expect much out of this on Switch 2, probably similar or even worse than Cyberpunk. These games are just too demanding for the system to handle.
Some games just shouldn’t be released this gen on some machines, like GTA 6 on PS5, just release it on PS6/PC instead where it can actually run well.
Probably a CPU bound game. That plane set piece with all the physics objects sliding left and right even made the PS5 pro chug if I recall correctly.
