There were some very disappointed Walmart customers on Wednesday as the day before the Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch 2 console was released Walmart cancelled a number of orders due to the retailer taking too many pre-orders without adequate stock. The large North American retailer has attempted to make amends for this and is offering those who had their pre-order cancelled the opportunity to reorder the console within the next 48 hours. That’s not all as some customers are reporting that they received a $519 Walmart gift card for the inconvenience, essentially making the Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch 2 console free.

Any confirmation this is real besides one random social media post? Getting a guaranteed reorder makes sense, but the gift card part seems fake and waaayy too much. Maybe a $50 gift card, but not the entire console for free that’s unfair.
