A physical release for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered could possibly come

Aspyr’s director of product Chris Bashaar has taken part in a new interview on all things Tomb Raider I-III Remastered. One of the things discussed was the availability of a physical release, as it is only available at the moment as a digital release across multiple platforms including the Nintendo Switch. Mr. Bashaar wouldn’t commit to a physical release, but does it sounds as though one could come in the future, but right now it will only be available as a digital download.

Q. Are there any plans for a physical release?

Apsyr: “We have not made any announcements about a physical release for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered.”

  1. I planed buy this for switch but physical copy only without stupid download codes like in Capcom games where one game is on cartridge and two download code. If all three games (+gold) not on cartridge i steal this game on jailbrake steam deck :)
I never buy digital games. Digital games i everytime steal only!

  2. Don’t get too excited for a physical release.
We all know physical releases for any collection of games on switch is either has one game on the cart while the rest has to be fmdownloaded, an empty box with a code, or a cart with only 3mb of data on it which still requires a download of the full game.
So far the only collection of games that got it right was Dragon Quest Heroes 1&2 and Ninja Gaiden Collection, and the only regions that got physical releases were in the Asian regions while the got digital only.
For western collectors we only got the Metro series Mega Man Zero and ZX series, and the Oddworld Collection.
There have been plenty of collections released physically here in the west but so many of them serve zero purpose to buy physically and if publishers refuse to do physical collections correctly then they shouldn’t even bother wasting materials on empty boxes or cartridges that don’t even hold any playable data on them.

  3. Would love to see a physical release I am a old gamer and miss when you could collect and keep the physical games…

  4. Get rid of digital shit period waste of time effort money for gaming people not gonna keep buying extra memory space constantly for to play games. It’s ridiculous and stupid and so is only on line game genera’s of games not everybody cares to play on line and likes or cares for it. Steam and digital games run slow and crappy and people on line get to serious and cyber bully takes the fun out of the gaming.
