It is not uncommon for various media outlets to release some lists that reveal their most favorite or least favorite gaming-related things. Sometimes these lists include Nintendo games, and sometimes they don’t. The latest list of note, however, may be interesting to fans of the Final Fantasy games.
The other day, GameSpot released a list where they ranked Final Fantasy games to celebrate the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It is worth noting that only the main games are being considered. Fairly solid up top, but maybe these list should be replaced with tier list. Allows grouping of similar quality games without having to knit-pick one over the other.
6 is ok but not 1st place 9th yes 8 is cancer and squall is just bad for me it would be 9 first then joint second 4&5 then 7 then 10&10-2 then all 13 titles then 12 then crisis core and dirge of cerberus then ff3 on ds the. Ff tactics advance and 2 with the psp version then 6 and finally 1 & 2
What moron put Remake at 4? It’s literal garbage.
I bet they just looked at all the “pretty graphics” and automatically thought it made the game good. It doesn’t.
I’d play literally any other FF game in existance over that awfully paced, padded, complete mess of a game.
I’ve only ever played FFI thanks to the Pixel Remaster bundle (I haven’t started II through VI yet), so I can’t gauge how accurate this list is.
I had a great time with I when I wasn’t confused on how to progress though.
When you play FFII, attack yourself. Stats in hp and defense goes up upon damage taken, and strength/magic increases the more you use it.

I don’t believe it, this list ranking is almost same as mine, never been a huge fan of FF8 & FF9 because of their gameplay flaws or convoluted stories but FF6 and FF12 still outranks most RPGs in story, music or world design, FF10 in story, music and combat and FF5 in gameplay and class system.
9 is too low, so I’m sorry but this list is incorrect.
Ff9 is still hidden gem for many 😌 soo underrated. For me best game ever! Skyrim is number 2.
