Nintendo has already confirmed that fans in the United States of America will be able to see the premiere of The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 on April 3rd, 2026. However, this date does not include many other regions around the world, including European regions and even Asian regions. So, it’s not out of the question that other regions may be able to see the movie on a different date.
Sure enough, that seems to be the case for Japan. A Nintendo Direct is happening within the next 12 hours, but that isn’t stopping Nintendo from officially announcing that The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 will be premiering in Japan just a few weeks after the United States, on April 24th, 2026. You can see Nintendo’s tweet about the matter down below.

I enjoyed the first one BUT I did feel it was held back… Hopefully they go FULL mushroom kingdom madness with Yoshi’s and flying caps… hint … hint…. Super Mario World themed.
My whole family enjoyed the first movie and hopefully we’ll enjoy the sequel too, my most anticipated videogame adaptation ever…smh
