Tetris 99 has been available to play for over 5 years now. Nevertheless, the game continues to receive a lot of support. When there isn’t updates, the game is receiving themes that fans can get from Maximus Cups. Most of the new themes involve a first-party game that recently released on the Nintendo Switch.
This is no exception. The 41st Tetris 99 Maximus has been officially announced by Nintendo tonight. This time, it will feature an F-Zero 99 theme. The Maximus Cup will be taking place in less than a week from now, beginning on July 1st. You can see Nintendo of America’s announcement tweet about the matter down below.

I wonder, when we reach 99 Tetris Maximus Cups, or 99 Tetris 99 Themes, will we be getting a Tetris 99 Celebration Theme for that event? Haha
I’m sure the 99 games will continue into the Switch 2’s life, so we’ll probably see lots of themes advertising the new games for that system. Though it will be interesting to see exclusive Switch 2 games advertised on Tetris 99 when playing on the Switch 1 lol
A 99-style game crossing into another 99-style game… Does this seem weird to anybody else?
