EVO 2024 has been going on this weekend. To celebrate the occasion, there has been quite a few fighting game announcements from multiple companies. One of them is Capcom, who recently announced that SNK Vs Capcom: SVC Chaos was now available on Steam and will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Well, it seems that Capcom’s not done with crossover fighting games yet. In fact, they’re very interested in more. Shuhei Matsumoto, Street Fighter 6 and Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection producer, said in an interview with Dexerto that “The development team at Capcom has big dreams. Maybe there is an opportunity for a new Marvel vs Capcom game. Maybe there is an opportunity for a new Capcom-based SNK game”.
Matsumoto continued, saying that “I don’t know. But, if that were to happen, that would take some time and effort in order create and release those kinds of games, but the short-term with what we can do now is at least reintroduce these past legacy games to a new audience, to people who may not have the opportunity to play it, because it might not be out on modern or current platforms. What we can at least do now is to show that, hey, these series exist. We love these games. We hope that you do too, and maybe in the future, if people get to familiarize themselves with these series, then there may be future opportunities to make bigger games”.

Nintendo X Capcom, please.
This. 1,000,000,000% this. I’m tired of Capcom crossing over with random companies. A crossover between just Nintendo and Capcom is long overdue. We have Pac-Man in Mario Kart Arcade games, Pac-Man in that Sonic mobile game, Pac-Man and Mega Man in Street Fighter X Tekken, and WAY too many crossovers between Mario and Sonic without the other two. Granted, I don’t think there has ever been a video crossover between Mega Man and Sonic without Mario nor Pac-Man unless you count Monster Hunter Rise, but be honest, a crossover between Nintendo and the company of Nintendo’s most important ally (aka Mega Man) would be a match made in heaven. And keep Bayonetta out of it. Bayonetta is a Sega IP that sunk into Nintendo, and everyone knows it.
Nothing will beat smash bros, and with it being one of Nintendo’s biggest sellers, another entry is inevitable. Can’t wait to see what comes after ultimate and how they are going to move forward with the series!
Can you change the headline to specify crossover fighting games? Saying just more crossover games in this article feels misleading when they’ve done plenty of non-fighting crossover games in the past.
I know this has nothing to do with fighting games, but we are decades overdue from mega Man and Sonic the hedgehog crossover
Monster Hunter x Animal Crossing plz
I’m tired of Capcom diluting their IP with crossovers.
That’s strange. Your translator seems to be broken. Let me fix that for you.
“I’m tired of Capcom diluting their IPs with crossovers with the wrong companies, like Marvel, SNK, and Tatsunoko, when they should be crossing over with Nintendo instead.”
Much better. But seriously, if people like you could stop jinxing everything for five eternities, that would be great.
That crossover already exists and it’s called smash bros, and sally acorn will never be in
Shounen Jump x Capcom has been a longtime dream of mine, would love to see it happen.
