It has been a long time since there was a new game for Ganbare Goemon, also known as Goemon or Mystical Ninja. In fact, it has been well over a decade. Nevertheless, Konami’s franchise still has some nostalgia for some gamers, so much so that a spiritual successor has arrived to the Nintendo Switch.
That spiritual successor is none other than Bakeru. It had already been released on Nintendo’s hybrid console in Japan last November. However, as of today, it is finally available to play in western regions. A launch trailer was released by Nintendo of America, so you can see the 3D action game for yourself down below.

This look’s promising, glad it’s getting a North America release.
Play the demo it’s actually a pretty good 3d platformer
I’m Blah! I want devs to suffer if they make Rosalina games. I’m jealous of Rosalina!
Fun fact, “bakeru” (化ける) is the Japanese verb “to transform”, which is very fitting here.
Anyway, this looks kinda neat. Might have to check it out.
