That SxS Generations poster is sick.🔥
I know right? It matches perfect for it.
I want to read everyone’s opinion, do you think it is a great idea to release this game between mario party jamboree and mario & luigi brothership?
I know those are different genres but still.
Hard to say it’s not like last year where wonder, and spiderman literally ran over sonic superstars
If i remember well the original version of generations was released during the super mario 3d land season and the latter sold better than generations despite being released during the time when the 3ds had a bad reputation and being a single platform game unlike sonic games which are multi platform.
I didn’t pay attention to the sales numbers back then, but it is worth mentioning that around that time a lot of good 3DS games were finally releasing all at once, so there was more incentive for people to want to purchase a 3DS and games for it- not to mention the price cut for the system happened just before 3D Land released, so it really was the beginning of the 3DS takeover at that point
Thank you very much for the facts.
Yes. Last year wasn’t that great for both Wonder and Superstars.
It was a great year for super mario bros. Wonder, it wasn’t that good for sonic superstars and smbw still appears in the charts unlike superstars.
Sonic Generations is more beloved than Colors was, and this time it has an entirely new game that every single person seems to be excited for.
Also yeah, different genres play a huge role in consumer purchases, so I doubt they’d cannibalize each other’s sales too much, though surely there will be some overlap
Also colors was a wii exclusive, generations is better known as it was multi platform.
But generations was available in consoles that had a bigger user base than the 3ds had at the time and we are talking of the moments were people trash talked consoles that weren’t HD, obviously Mario’s numbers are impressive for being exclusive to a certain console while the opposite occurs with Sonic, it is available in more platforms yet its sales pale in comparison to some Nintendo franchises.
Super Mario 3d world sold better than sonic lost world, Mario kart 8 sold better on wii u than sonic & all stars racing transformed while te switch version of MK 8 still sells and let’s take into account that it surpassed the latest sonic racing game…smh.
