Plucky Squire to run at 30fps on Nintendo Switch

The Plucky Squire from Developer Digital is shaping up to be a charming and colourful adventure. Many of you will be wondering whether the development studio has been able to achieve 60fps with the Nintendo Switch port, and the answer is sadly no. Developer Digital explained to a fan that the game “can’t maintain” that frame rate. The news will come as a disappointment to those looking forward to the game, which runs at a buttery smooth 60fps on other formats.

      1. Oh it definitely does. I’m not a frame’s snob though. I grew up with games that would dip to 20fps and we’re just inconsistent. So as long as they’re locked at around 30 I’m good with. I do however wonder how much nicer this looks compared to Smash and Odyssey, since those 2 run at 60fps.
