It has been a while since we last had a new mainline Tales of game as Tales of Arise launched back in 2021. IGN caught up with Yuki Ishikawa, who is the producer behind the upcoming Tales of Graces f Remastered which is heading to the Switch and other platforms early next year. One thing that IGN was curious about is the future of the series, mainly the mainline titles. Mr. Ishikawa said that “whether it’s a remaster, whether it’s a remake, we can’t say for sure, but we definitely want to keep moving forward.”
“The goal for the Tales of IP in general is to make the IP grow,” Ishikawa explained. “So it’s not to say that the Tales of series is going to end with Tales of Arise…So whether there is an entirely new title, whether it’s a remaster, whether it’s a remake, we can’t say for sure, but we definitely want to keep moving forward.”
Keep pumping those remakes in between new entries (Like Game freak does) and I’ll be happy lol
You are right, it makes sense. Since they said their objetive is to make the IP grow, they could expand to other areas like movies and shows too, to raise awareness to the franchise.
I’d love to play an Abyss Remaster. I never finished it on PS2 or 3DS, but got pretty close, and would love to give it another go!
