Nintendo has been very active with the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack retro libraries recently. Although it varies which retro library gets updated with more games, Nintendo’s schedule with new additions has reached a point where it is now guaranteed to see at least one retro game added a month.
Well, tonight is no exception. You see, Nintendo has announced that Banjo-Tooie, the sequel to Banjo-Kazooie, will be coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack’s Nintendo 64 library on October 25th. You can see the official announcement social media post from Nintendo of America down below.

Banjo-Tooie is coming to #NintendoSwitch for #NintendoSwitchOnline + Expansion members on 10/25! Are you ready? #N64 pic.twitter.com/HbPGXGbsmq

My childhood! Now we need DK64 and Diddy Kong Racing!
I agree with you, we need DK64 and Diddy Kong Racing for Nintendo 64 online for Nintendo Switch
OH MY GOD YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~
FINALLY!! I guess they wanted to wait IRL two years since that’s how much time passes between games?
Considering that banjo kazooie came out in Jan 2022, it’s actually almost been 3 years, and it feels like it too.
Why stop at Hero? Hopefully we get that, 64, and Second Attack as well (the latter of which is one of the N64’s rarest games, so that would be huge).
Banjo Tooie!! Hey hey hey!!!
Just 4 main N64 titles left
Killer Instinct Gold
Donkey Kong 64
(Previously avaliable on Wii U eshop)
Diddy Kong Racing
(Previously avaliable on Nintendo DS)
Conkers Bad Fur Day
To me Banjo Tooie was the last major title, so my hype level is lower for these titles, but I would love to see Diddy Kong Racing since it’s the only Rare title to never see a virtual console release. We will never see Mickeys Speed Way USA unless Nintendo can pull another Goldeneye.
I’d add Super Smash Bros. to that list
