Kotaku is reporting today that the long-awaited Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in development at Ubisoft and has some of the Prince of Persia: Lost Crown team working on the project. Experienced Ubisoft veteran Fawzi Mesmar is now the game’s Creative Director. Ubisoft said that Mr. Mesmar is “focused on continuing to build upon the vision set forth by our late friend and colleague, Emile Morel.” Beyond Good & Evil creator Michel Ancel and the game’s senior producer Guillaume Brunier, are no longer involved in the project.
“The game recently successfully passed an internal milestone with positive feedback from company leadership, according to two sources familiar with production. While there’s still a lot of work ahead, at least some developers on the project feel like it may have finally found its footing and a clearer direction after years of tech issues and internal power struggles.”

insane how this game is still alive
Yeah I am honestly shocked it didn’t get canned years ago, let alone in the last few months with as much upheaval and turmoil as there has been at Ubisoft
With the way Ubisoft is going I don’t have hopes that it will turn out good and will flop like the rest of the slop. Good to hear it’s still alive after 666yrs.
Nah.
Jeses christ, let this game get canned already.🙄
They really think people are dumb enough to believe this after twenty years?
I mean… to hear it received positive feedback from “company leadership” isn’t exactly reassuring, because Ubisoft’s leadership is exactly what’s WRONG with the company.
They can release it unfinished, broken, buggy or even cancel it completely.
I stopped caring about this game a long time ago.
