Super Mario Bros. Wonder has now been added to Nintendo Music

Nintendo Music looks set to be an excellent addition to the perks available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. While there is currently only a limited range of classic video game soundtracks on offer, more will undoubtedly be added the collection as time goes on. The first new release for the service is the joyful soundtrack to the wonderful Super Mario Bros. Wonder. This marks the first time a big Nintendo Switch game, which hasn’t received a full soundtrack release in Japan, has appeared on Nintendo’s new service.

  1. BUT HERE’S THE REAL QUESTION THOUGH, WILL GAME FREAK STOP BEING LITTLE BITCHES AND GIVE US POKèMANS MUSIC THO?! also smash music like that shit is a no brainer

    1. Well, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are already on there, that could mean other Pokemon game soundtracks could be added later.

The problem with Smash- at least the later titles- is the rights to some music tracks. Sure, anything Nintendo owns is fair game, but the third party stuff like SEGA, Capcom, Square, etc. isn’t so straightforward. If any one of them says “no”, that soundtrack would have to be gutted of those songs, especially if it’s an original track and not a remix (Escape From the City from Sonic, for example).

In fact, if I remember correctly, the CDs that you could get from the old Club Nintendo if you registered your copies of Smash for Wii U and 3DS did not have a single non-Nintendo track on them, so that already sets a precedent.

      1. Man, I totally forgot gen 9 is there, also yeah I understand no third parties, but damn brawl still has my favorite ost of all time.
