Nintendo has seemingly taken ownership of the Ryujinx website

nintendo's company logo

It has now been a month since Nintendo Switch emulator Ryujinx was taken down by Nintendo and it looks like the Kyoto-based company has secured the operations official website. Nintendo of America is now the official owner of the Ryujinx website according to information taken from the WHOIS database. The site was updated on the 7th November with the new registration information. The website is not functional, which is presumably because Nintendo wants rid of it, but also wants to secure the domain in case the emulator ever rears its head again in the future by another team of emulation enthusiasts.

  1. Nintendo haters on the way..
“Nintendo has no right! ” “Well, someone else will take his place…” “I hope they sue them and Nintendo loses it!”

      1. As much as I dislike Tentri, I can understand where they’re coming from. I love Nintendo, but it’s hard to defend them when they keep stabbing you in the back.

        1. Blah what the fuck are you talking about. im not pro emulation cause i feel stabbed in the back by nintendo, im pro emulation because i want people to have the freedom to enjoy games how they like and without people buying 300 dollars of NES shit just to play balloon fight. PLUS switch Emulation is a huge gray area for me because, aside from people who use it to boost performance on like TOTK most of them use it to pirate WHICH IS AWFUL ESPECIALLY FOR NEW GAMES!!!!
do i pick a side about this? No. The Switch is still the current gen, im not against people emulating it on pc, but i can undrestand why they want it shut down, cause we can’t deny that the majority would use it to pirate new games. would i be against nintendo if they shut down Dolphin?Absolutely, Dolphin is an incredible tool for easy access for old gnc/wii game that would be pretty hard to get without it cause nintendo doesn’t rerelease most of them on their new platforms.

It’s incredible how people on this site cannot have an opinion that is not ONE SIDED, you either a Nintendo whiteknight or someone who straight up hates nintendo, and then people get surprised when somehow i side with nintendo or some shit like that.

          1. Nintendo is a company, they are not going to let their games be played for free like that, there are always new costumers who buy their new and old games, so they get new sales. This is the truth in most media, they are not going to let people “enjoy games how they like” because companies are not supposed to give things for free, specially the games that sell the most. It is a concept that is so easy to understand.

There are a lot of retro games on NSO with a membership that has a price that is not too expensive and people can play many old games through it.

It is their games and they decide what to do with them. It is their IP, not ours.

            1. Look at Steam Then, all their classic, completely accessible and playable on newer pcs with the latest operating system, wanna play Fzero GX? FUCK YOU! Grab a GameCube (100 dollars) and Fzero GX (100 dollars), so 200 dollars just to play a single game…or you know… you can always emulate it on your pc with hd resolution, better audio and unlimited fps…Do you see how big of a deal emulation is for Nintendo games? Nintendo consoles are by far the most emulated ones because they never rerelease shit, after what? 25 years? Pokèmon still hasn’t rereleased the 3rd gen games, and would you look at that, pokèmon emerald is one of the most emulated games of all time. Look, you cannot like emulation and all but people have a reason for it and it’s not just “free games” I can give you a pass with the switch ones, but not older systems

              1. I am pretty sure they do their researches to understand where and when they will re-release a game. It is all part of their business, just like they release older Pokémon games on the Virtual Console but didn’t on the Switch. I don’t know why, but there must be a reason that the company and their leaders felt that it was not the right time to do it. Like they said, you just have to wait when they re-release their games. It is not like there aren’t other games to be played in the meantime.

                1. Dude, they probably have a reason, doesn’t mean that the reason is not garbage, you can trust Nintendo all you want but 90% of their library is still unplayable on moser consoles

            2. There are a lot of ways you could play half life for free on pc. But why would you when you can buy it in no time for a cheap price on the official store? There are no ways to buy Mario kart double dash on switch and you will need to pay a LOT for playing one game. Oh yeah and also get your grandma vhs out, you don’t have space for that in your house?????? Uhhhhhhh???
There is an easy way to play Mario kart double dash on newer systems, all you need is a pc or even a pretty good phone if you want.

          2. Well, I mean in general. I say a lot of negative things about Nintendo, but I don’t want Nintendo to die, I’m criticizing them so they would stop making stupid choices and give us what we want. But you got a point. I don’t have to pick a side. I can like Nintendo AND mods. At the end of the day, I still plan on getting games by Nintendo (or any company for that matter) when they do the right thing. Besides it’s not like video game companies (always) listen to me. Otherwise, Crash Man would have a net navi counterpart by now.
