Sonic 3 movie director teases another Sonic character reveal at end of movie

Entertainment Weekly has published a fresh new interview with Jeff Fowler, the current director of the Sonic the Hedgehog movies, who has informed the site that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will continue with tradition and will set the stage for a potential fourth movie by introducing another Sonic character. The first movie introduced Tails and the second introduced Shadow. It seems likely that the third film could introduce Silver, though Fowler would not be drawn into spoiling the surprise.

Continuing the tradition set by the previous two films, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (in theaters Dec. 20) will also set the stage for a potential fourth movie to introduce another video game character after Tails and now Shadow. Of course, don’t expect Fowler to give up the goods just yet.

“It’s fun to see the fan debates online about who’s coming up next, who’s going to be teased at the end of the film,” he says. “We have a lot of the same conversations. We’ve all got our favorites on the filmmaking side, and we’re all making great cases for ‘it should be this one or that one.’ It is fun to keep that anticipation. This movie is no different in terms of teasing new characters.”

    1. It’s not a spoiler. Every Sonic movie reveals someone at the end, as stated in the article. Even the Knuckles series inferred about Iblis and the Flames of Disaster.

Plus considering they’re talking a lot about what’ll come next, a fourth movie and a reveal are a no brainer.

  1. There’s no need to fear “AMY ROSE IS HERE” seriously if they introduce her like this, it’s a completely missed opportunity.

    1. And what would Amy be doing in a post-Shadow/Modern era (especially if Sonic never met her)?

Since the Paramount Sonic movies are for a broad audience (who DON’T play Sonic games), she’ll either be:
      -Every obsessed psycho fangirl
-A girlboss who gives Sonic (and the audience) a hard time. Tom and Maddie will probably expect Sonic to get along with her, with zero effort on HER part.
      -Sally 2.0
      -Illumination!Princess Peach 2.0
-Webby from the DuckTales reboot/Mabel from Gravity Falls 2.0
-A random ethnicity that she never was.

These are very bad choices BTW, but try telling that to the many lunatics that would lose their shit in each theaters the minute this reveal happens, or when the first rando leaker on YouTube spoilers this stinger ending (all just for clout).

        1. What’s ridiculous is that we even HAVE these modern trends in movie adaptations, and the fact that you automatically assume I hate the character’s very existence. It’s called pandering to specific audiences, usually the lowest common denominator.

      1. Only if it’s the REAL Chaotix, and not just the trio put together for the sake of Sonic Heroes’ gimmick. We know 5 doesn’t equal 3, but they didn’t have to flanderize Knuckles and ghost Mighty until Team Headcannon came along, and then left.
