Donkey Kong Land available for Switch Online members

Nintendo has been very active with the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack retro libraries recently. Although it varies which retro library gets updated with more games, Nintendo’s schedule with new additions has reached a point where it is now guaranteed to see at least one retro game added a month.

Well, it isn’t surprising, but tonight has proved to be no exception. You see, Nintendo has announced that Donkey Kong Land is now available to play for Nintendo Switch Online members. It can be found in the Game Boy’s retro library. You can see the official announcement social media post from Nintendo of America down below.

    1. I played through Donkey Kong Land a while back. All the levels are different than Donkey Kong Country. There is a world that has multiple environments, a sunken ancient city world, a mountain/sky world, and a city world. The other 2 Donkey Kong Land games (2 & 3) are pretty much demakes though. Donkey Kong Land is essentially Donkey Kong Country The Lost Levels, but on Gameboy.

  1. I knew Nintendo would do this, instead of giving us donkey kong 64, knew they would drag us through the gameboy/GBA titles first!

  2. With all due respect, how in the hell can anyone spend any genuine amount of time playing this? Maybe back in it’s day it was somehow a technical marvel or something – but it’s 2024, this is not an acceptable way to spend your time gaming.
