Infographic: Nintendo system sales over the ages

Infographic and data site Visual Capitalist has produced a nice clear infographic depicting Nintendo system sales over the years from the Nintendo Entertainment System to the Nintendo Switch. The handy infographic shows both console and handheld sales of games sold for the platforms along with system sales. The sales data is direct from previously published Nintendo figures.

    1. I see that you have absolutely not understood the nature of my words. the 3DS sold very well in absolute terms but in reality, it remains the least sold portable console and the first where Nintendo had to lower the price very quickly because it wasn’t selling so yes it’s a failure for Nintendo, not commercial but a failure nonetheless, but go ahead and see what you want to see….

      1. I remember Nintendo reviewing their prices when they originally released the 3ds, I think the only failure was the too higher price hence the sudden price drop, although as I purchased the release price 3ds I got the ambassador reward. The 3ds was still a success

    1. I don’t know but I ain’t calling that shit hybrid, one room of distance from the console and the gamepad would go apeshit

  1. Switch numbers are slightly outdated. Those numbers are from March of this year. Switch sales are now at just over 146 million.
