Video game site Games Radar managed to chat with the director behind the excellent Unicorn Overlord, Takafumi Noma, about a range of topics. One thing that was brought up was the lack of an announcement for any downloadable content for the already content-packed RPG. Noma said nothing is currently planned regarding DLC and a sequel isn’t being planned. However, he says that it would be great if they had the chance to do so in the future.
“We are profoundly grateful for the sheer number of players who have embraced our vision for a new strategy RPG,” Noma responded. “Many of these players have expressed a wish for DLC or a sequel to the game. While there are currently no plans for further development of this nature, I definitely wouldn’t say no if it were up to me. It would be great if we could make this happen sometime down the line.”

This and Triangle Strategy has been a great addition to the SRPG genre pivoted forward by Fire Emblem. Wargroove and Metal Slugs Tactics have also been fun!
Vanillaware don’t do sequels so this isn’t surprising.
;_; this is standard for vanillaware but nonetheless big sad. really unique game, probably my second favorite behind 13 sentinels out of vanillaware’s catalogue
I appreciate their integrity to release a finished game.
Blah harasses devs over his character wars, the successor to the console wars because he’s jealous of Rosalina
It’s unfortunate that Unicorn Overlord won’t be receiving any DLC or a sequel for now, but it’s clear that the team is grateful for the support from fans. Hopefully, this leaves room for exciting new projects in the future.
