2025 has arrived, and with it comes a major milestone for a Nintendo-related franchise. 15 years ago, the first Bayonetta game had been released internationally, though it is worth noting that Bayonetta 1 had been available in Japan for a few months prior. The franchise is still owned by SEGA, but Nintendo has recently been the ones publishing the games. All of the main games are currently available to play on the Nintendo Switch.
Platinum Games, the studio that develops the Bayonetta games, is very much aware of the franchise’s 15th anniversary. In fact, they’ve confirmed that they’ll be celebrating the anniversary throughout the year. As for what they have planned, all they’re saying is that “we have a few things in store to celebrate this milestone so keep your eyes peeled”.

Tbh it’s more of replacing the bayo from 1-2 with another universes bayo (confirmed a new universe) then killing her off for viola….whose personality was based on Luka..a character no one cared for…..with a playstyle everyone hated needing two patches to make her somewhat tolerable. The multiverse story was poorly done, characters watered down. Bayo no longer a focus. A poorly developed love story the series never needed. And bayo not sounding or acting like bayo…. And retcons…. The series fell off
I hate the fact the name “Bayonetta” is supposed to suddenly be a title passed down all of a sudden. The bayo that gave viola the name WASNT EVEN B3 BAYO. IT WAS DARK EVE BAYO a different person…. B3 BAYO was dead in inferno as a spirit. It seems this universe from b3 is the new timeline we’re using going forward….. Not gonna bring in the anti brigade using b3 and the anniversary art to just be hateful…using it out of context. The game and fandom left in shambles

The only thing I’d want to see come out of this is a Crossover with Devil May Cry having Bayonetta, Dante, Virgil, and Luka traverse hell since all 4 characters ended up in hell at the end of their last games.
That’s the only thing that would get me excited for another Bayonetta game.

Nintendo needs to throw money at Sega & buy the franchise from them. The only thing this company does right is Sonic cartoons & movies and that’s a low bar in & of itself. I’m amazed they haven’t royally fucked up Atlas games… yet. And when they do buy it, ignore Bayonetta 3 because it seems most people (if not everyone) hate it.
