  1. Huge for a Wii game, for no reason. Inferior to the original in basically all ways, and it will be, always. Dreadful experience. Stick to the original and DKC1-3.

    1. I doubt it’s the Wii game. It’s likely built from the 3DS port which was a pretty huge filesize too (for a 3DS game)

    2. You mean the game with the cumbersome Wii controls and no extra stages?

Didn’t realize people’s eyes were so sensitive to the graphical differences.

        1. From what I searched, when a game is remastered, estimate numbers are that file sizes can increase up to 2 or 5 times as HD textures and audio occupy more space. For reference, Metroid Prime was 1.0 GB and the remaster is 6.8 GB. Paper Mario TTYD was 1.1 GB on the Gamecube and 5.1 GB on the Switch.

I saw the Wii version of DKCR was 3747,50 MB (3.66 GB) while the 3DS version was 17691 blocks (2.2 GB).

Seeing how a remastered game can have 2 or 5 times more in size, 8.3 GB is a reasonable size.

  2. DKC1 is the best of the original trilogy. Tropical Freeze is fantastic. I never got to play Returns so I’m excited to try it out.
