We all found out yesterday that Platinum Games is working on the Ninja Gaiden game for Microsoft Game Studios. However, one person who won’t be working on the project is Astral Chain director and Nier Automata designer Takahisa Taura. Fans have discovered that Taura has likely left the company and he appears to have founded a brand new studio which is titled Eel Game Studios. It is not clear whether we will ever get another Astral Chain game.

A sequel wouldn’t be dead because of this. The IP is owned by Nintendo and they can ask anyone to make a sequel if they want.
