The long-awaited Trails In the Sky The 1st remake was playable at the Taipei Game Show and YouTube channel CGInferno went hands-on with the JRPG and have published an informative comparison between the upcoming remake and the original game. The channel specifically looked at the craft and map changes in the new game vs the older one. Trails In the Sky The 1st remake is scheduled to arrive on the Nintendo Switch later this year. Check out the changes down below.
Trails In the Sky The 1st remake crafts and map exploration comparison

The remake looks good, but I prefer the retro graphics of the Og version.
Never played this series (been sitting in backlog for like a decade) but the remake so far looks kinda generic and soulless.
Everyone loves to say “soulless” over and over like it means something nowadays, don’t they?
I emulated the first game when I realized how huge the series eventually gets. I was enjoying myself with the PS1 style. I’m so happy to be old now, because the way Indies and stuff are being made today makes nostalgia not feel that far removed from today’s gaming landscape.
Though I only played Trails in the Sky for three-ish hours, I felt something memorable here. I want to play both versions, to be honest with you. But that would be a Herculean undertaking, once you factor in the rest of the games and the remaster project…

I love the new version so far. Not just the graphics which let you see the world better while moving around but also I’m looking forward to that hybrid battle system so some of the simpler fights can be handled in real time instead of being dragged out in turn based fashion. This will be a preorder for me.
