  1. That’s over 52 billion dollars in Switch hardware sales btw. Not all profit obviously but still – a staggering amount of money.

    1. This is what we call turnover and contrary to popular belief, it is not representative of the health of a company,it represents gross overall sales and in this case -here it is shared between several actors and without me being mistaken,I would say that Nintendo represents 20 to 30% of the volume, which is huge but to determine how much has won Nintendo it’s more delicate and especially it is spread over 8 years

          1. I always figured that Nintendo bought components out right. I remember few years back there was an article that talked about Nintendo reusing old LCD screens on new hardware because they had overstock. I do understand that even them buying components out right means that they aren’t making 100 profit, but percentage shouldn’t apply since all components decrease in price year after year, making it impossible for us outsiders to gauge just how much of that was profit.

  2. Sickr, I’m a big fan of the site mate.
However, this has got to be the laziest editorial I’ve ever seen from you guys.

    1. I’m waiting for them to go up to Geoff Keighley , and hit him with the, “What’s this behind your ear” and then they pull out another 10 million more PS2 sold out of it.

  3. PS2 sold from 2000-2013. The switch has been sold since 2017. That’s 8 years compared to Sony. Sony only sold 130 million consoles by 2008. Switch has already surpassed that by 20 million. By the time the switch comes off the shelves (which will probably be around 2027) they will have amassed enough to overtake the PS2. They should continue making Switch’s until 2030 in my opinion.
