Video game leaker Nate the Hate has said on X that he is not even sure if a February 2025 Nintendo Direct is even planned, as he hasn’t really heard anything about it. Fans were hoping to hear news of what’s next in regards to original Nintendo Switch games, as the only firm release date we have is for the long-awaited port of Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition.
Have nothing to share. Beyond there being rumored talk of a February Direct, I haven't heard anything about one or when one may happen.

I'm currently in the dark on whether a February Direct will come to be or not.

Whereas last year at the same time we had this kind of individuals who swore on their mother that we would have a live broadcast in February… direct which took place in March supposedly by the way but hey it “seems that Microsoft asked Nintendo to delay the direct “^^….
It’s not impossible that we’ll have one in March or the one in April will also focus on the games coming to Switch since the 2 consoles are backwards compatible.
The February Partner Direct took place in late February.
Pokemon direct duh.
Did he not “double-down” on it a few weeks ago?? These “insiders” are all ridiculous. They get like 1 or 2 super obvious things right and everyone treats them like a prophet.
It never made sense for a general Direct to air this February after Nintendo announced the Switch 2 Direct, and especially after they made a big deal out of announcing what time it’ll air.
They could totally still announce a Switch 1 game or two through trailer shadow drops, but it seems highly unlikely for there to be any kind of Direct before April.
This. The Switch is on the way out so there’s no need for a showcase reel of upcoming games. Even if it’s a one last 1st party Nintendo game, it would suffice just to shadow-drop a trailer.
Pokemon will have it’s own direct eventually.
I think Metroid Prime 4 will be mostly marketed as a Switch 2 game (kinda like how BOTW was marketed as a Switch game when it was a Wii U game, technically).
As Sofi said, they’ll probably just reveal any new Switch games in April alongside Switch 2 & it’s games. Provided no new games come out before April 2nd.
drop dead
I feel like if there is a Switch only direct it needs to happen this week. After that it will be too close to Switch2 direct and they don’t want muddy marketing. I think Directs going forward will start with 10/15 minutes of games for Switch & Switch2 before going S2 exclusives.
There is no need for a Switch Direct at all.
The big titles for Switch are, mostly, XCX (a port that, honestly, doesn’t warrant one, at most a small exclusive Direct), Pokémon LZ-A (which will appear on a Pokémon Direct down the line – and probably will be for both systems) and Metroid Prime 4 (which will also be for both systems).
For companies who supported the Switch, they won’t have anything to lose by waiting and then showing their titles for Switch 2 because they already have the goodwill of the userbase. For the ones who didn’t and want a slice of Nintendo pie, revealing a title now wouldn’t be that advantageous considering it’d be probably a sloppy port/remaster anyway, and they can drop their bombs during the Switch 2 Direct itself.
The Switch is amazing but let’s not pretend it’s not way past overdue. The backward compatibility mitigates any issue it might have at launch, it’ll have (apparently) a new Mario Kart as a launch title, and most of the rumored games paint a very solid figure.
