Nintendo provides a look at Switch Online games app on Nintendo Switch 2

nintendo switch online

Nintendo has provided fans with a few screenshots of how the Nintendo Switch Online Nintendo Classics collections look on the Nintendo Switch 2. As you can see from the image below they have redesigned the apps user interface and put all the platforms; Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, GameCube, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance, games all in one simple app. We only have screenshots of the Japanese version of the app, but we should see some English screenshots in due course.

  1. I’m glad they’ve combined the virtual consoles, it makes the experience feel more coherent.

I’d always thought on the Switch they should have creates a combined app, given it a retro vibe, and called in Nintendo Arcade or something like that.

    1. Y’all need to chill with this crap everyone wanted a freaking better switch which they provided but it’s stupid y’all expect more powerful hardware with the same switch price. Nintendo did the same thing, Xbox did with series, PlayStation 5 and these video card companies and nobody screamed drop the price

    1. Yet another comment that makes absolutely no sense. To take something with a pinch of salt generally means – not legit, exaggerated or maybe misleading.. These are offical screenshots.

        1. Oh wait. You telling me that you liked stalking me and impersonating me instead of doing it to someone else and too lazy to get therapy? Thanks. You have now prove my point again kiddo.

  2. The ui just looks so weird and bland compared to the already bare ones looking switch online app, but to be fair I don’t think it matters much to me since I don’t use it that much except to collect platinum points and make pfp

  3. Putting everything into one app is such a good change – the kind of change that will make me use it a lot more. Hopefully you can choose to only have select games downloaded too, particularly as more Gamecube games are added to the service. One feature I feel should also be there is the ability to filter games by major franchises rather than console. Let me see Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pokémon etc. games at a glance.

I agree with some of the feeling here that the UI looks boring. But compared to what we currently have, at least it’s getting the job done.

  4. I wonder if it will be the same in NA since they felt the need to do a separate app for ESRB M rated N64 games.

I’m not saying it’s a decision by Nintendo per se but maybe something they have to do due to dealing with the ESRB and whatever regulations here.

    1. There is a japanese version of the N64 NSO Mature app too. As the screenshots are not showing them, the pictures might be a concept and the final version might feature some differences like the inclusion of the N64 Mature app and other tweaks.
