Rumour: Pokemon Gen 10 (Codename Gaia) set to take place in Greek Islands

A new rumour for Pokemon Gen 10, which is codenamed Gaia, has emerged from generally reliable Pokemon leaks account Centro Leaks. Pokemon Gen 10 (Codename: Gaia) is apparently releasing exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026 coinciding with the beloved series 30th anniversary. Pokemon Gen 10 (Codename: Gaia) is seemingly set to be inspired by the Cyclades, a series of Greek Islands, and will involve water travel from island to island. We won’t know for certain until the game is unveiled.

    1. Almost? It is COD-ish, I’d say even worse to be honest. Cause at Least COD manages to release a stable experience every year by copy and pasting the same game.
Pokèmon is made by game freak which we know they are incompetent as game developers in this day and age and they keep releasing a new completely broken game with an enormous lack of content. I was hopeful with Legends Arceus that something was going to change but I guess not.

      1. I don’t entirely agree with you… legend of arceus and Z-A show that they are trying other approaches.
For me the real problem is that they clearly don’t have any more ideas … Between the mega evolutions and the gigamax, we can see that they experiment with anything and everything, not to mention that they are “forced” to pick up old pokemons to produce new ones…

Personally, my favorites remain the unbeatable Gold and Silver as well as X/Y, those released on switch did not leave me with a memorable memory…

I really hope that this new generation brings something and not just more reheated or messed up mechanics…

        1. Ehhhhh i don’t know, like I said I enjoyed Legends Arceus and I bought the game cause i wanted to support game freak in doing something different, but it still had huge flaws especially performance and graphical wise, I believe in game freak doing something creative for once Arceus is proof but MAN Legends ZA look so incredibly underwhelming for me. Graphically still looks bad and the same concept of Arceus again inside a City with these small parks instead of huge wild areas? Nah I’m good. Game Freak needs new People in their team the Nintendo DS days are over.

          1. I don’t think a new team would do better…
Then for legend of arceus and Z-A don’t forget that they are overswitch which is quite limited it must be said…
And you don’t play pokemon for the graphics (at least for me)
But I agree with you Z-A, limited to one city, it looks special, I’ll really have to make up my mind before buying this one but I’m not throwing stones at Nintendo to try something different.

            1. idk i mean you could argue that BOTW has bad graphical fidelity but its still a visually striking and pretty game. The Switch 2 footage of ZA looks nice to me but i will admit that Pokemon’s artstyle, especially the monsters, look a bit stiff and “off the factory line.” It feels like they are trying to be more cost effective than they have any right to be considering just how much money this game makes. Like, give the devs the budget we know you can give em and let em reiterate and cook. Nintendo has done it time and time again with Mario and Zelda. It escapes me why they don’t do that with Pokemon.

              1. Just because a game has a huge budget doesn’t mean it will sell well or be profitable…I think Nintendo prefers to be cautious, especially since the Pokemon phenomenon isn’t as big as it used to be…

      2. Pokémon games aren’t littered with microtransactions out the ass like CoD does and they don’t cut content to resell them as “extra content” like CoD does.

        1. Yes they do,
They lack post game content, something that was a standard to have in previous titles and they resell you that content as paid dlc. You literally cannot say otherwise

  1. Pokémon used to be my favorite Franchise, completed the Living National Pokédex, Event Pokémon included. When the Switch released, Pokémon died for me. The cause? The Pokémon Company and GameFreak.

  2. Greek Islands, huh? That sounds like a really cool setting for a Pokemon game! I’m kinda excited to see what new Pokemon designs they come up with for that region. Fingers crossed it’s a good one!
