Nintendo passes $100 billion in valuation

Nintendo have seen significant financial success over the Switch’s lifespan, with both the system and various first-party titles selling millions of units. This has had an impact on the company’s valuation, and over the weekend Nintendo passed $100 billion dollars in valuation for the first time.

At time of writing Nintendo are valued at $100.24 billion, making them Japan’s seventh largest company and only $1.97 billion away from overtaking Fast Retailing, the retail holding company that owns Uniqlo. With less than a month to go until the Nintendo Switch 2 releases, it’s likely this number will only climb higher once the system hits the shelves.

  1. Not surprised given how their shareholders invested even more money knowing beforehand that Nintendo was going to price gouge the switch 2 and their overpriced games.
If the switch 2 doesn’t sell as well as the switch 1, which it won’t, their value is going to take a nosedive, especially given the fact that Nintendo is making sure less of their games and accessories won’t sell as much do to overpriced for what was literally being sold for less on switch 1 with little to no real improvements in any way, shape, or form.
Don’t even get me started on those worthless overpriced “game key cards” and that 480p camera that barely runs at 20fps when recording.
This may not flop as bad as the wiiu, but their pricing will definitely make sure it doesn’t sell nearly as much as the switch 1 or wii.
I’m definitely jumping to pc to get away from this console nonsense.
At least on PC I only have one bill to pay if I want to play online, and that’s my internet bill.

    1. Shareholders do not get information like that they trade off of publicly disclosed information. You seem to think there’s some sort of kabal of high profile monopoly men but that’s incorrect

  2. It’s false, Nintendo’s official camera displays 1080p…

Once again, some people are really saying anything here in order to discredit Nintendo or not pure pleasure… Your lives must be pathetic.

      1. The pirhana plant is not an official Nintendo accessory… it comes from Hori…
So he says anything, end of story

        1. We’ll go for a 3rd time just for you.
He didn’t state that Nintendo are making it.
          He referenced the camera resolution.

              1. Please turn on your brain.

Their whole comment was about criticising Nintendo for decisions they made regarding the Switch 2, and they mentioned the 480p camera as part of that despite it not being made by Nintendo, which makes zero sense as part of their argument.

Are you seriously that dim to not understand why people are calling them out on this bad faith argument?
                It’s not hard.

                1. Of course the argument is bad faith. But call out the argument and not mix their words. Which is what I’m calling out.

Also. Sofiona is that you posting as another person ?

                  1. Oh dear, quite dim aren't you?

They very clearly were calling out the arguement, the 480p camera is not made by Nintendo and therefore should not have been included as part of their arguement against them. This is the point that all the repliers were making, how are you still struggling to understand this?

Also, Malbhet, is that you posting as another person?

                    1. Give it a rest, with all your alt accounts and silly comments. Seriously, by the comments of everyone here, it’s pretty clear we all see you’re fake shake and bake strategy lol…..please, give it a rest.

  3. Nintendo Switch 2 will probably sell over 100 million consoles, but how much over? How about games sold per console?

Their greed will not make S2 as big as an success as S1, but maybe they cut significantly cut prices if sales slow down some time after launch.

Anyway, it’s still too early to tell where the (game) prices set. Will they bring back gold coins or vouchers in some way? Is there a fix for the drift or not?

Unfavourable market conditions also hamper S2’s potential.

    1. Market conditions?? You do know the market conditions were terrible for the Switch. And look how much it sold lol.

  4. Lord Foxxy Foxington

Lots of jealous and insecure Sony fanbiys commenting here, im sorry the PS5 has no games, all your games can be played on PC making your console irrelevant, and that Sony itself is even more irrelevant now.

  5. If history is any guide, Nintendo’s knack for surprise hits and beloved IP will keep pushing them even higher. It’ll be fascinating to see whether they can topple Fast Retailing and join the very top tier of Japanese companies in the coming months.
