One of the most requested video games at Square Enix in recent times is a Chrono Trigger remake with Final Fantasy and the Dragon Quest series having both received remakes, it seems only fair. In a new interview with Game Reactor creator Yuji Horii says that it is something he is definitely “contemplating” doing as he is aware of the fan requests. He went ion to say that it is also something he personally wants to do.
“Yes, it is. It has been a long time. Yes, I want to do something. Currently Dragon Quest has seen III, I & II remakes. I get a lot of requests for the remake of Chrono Trigger as well, so I am starting to contemplate on it”
My question is if he is going to remake it would it still be Akira Toriyama’s art (or an emulation of it) or are they going to go with Toyotarou who is basically Toriyama but different or go for a different art direction?
Let’s just hope they don’t go down the Secret of Mana remake route…
